Each class will be practice based, and we will explore the below topics:
1. Exploration of the Breath, nasal breathing, and why good breathing habits are so important for good health.
2. The importance of the exhale, and nostril dominance to find balance in the nervous system
3. Breathing to help manage stress and anxiety
4. Breathing for health, wellbeing and better athletic performance
5. Breathing for better focus, concentration and clarity
6. Integrating breath-work into your daily life

After this workshop, you will acquire valuable tools that can be transformational for those who have dysfunctional breathing, sleep apnea, or are chronic mouth breathers. It is also a great way to relieve stress and anxiety.

Caroline Kila

My love of yoga has been deeply rooted since my teenage years. I discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa when I moved to the Philippines thanks to Bela Lipat, and was certified as a teacher in 2005 by Paul Dallaghan from Samahita Retreat. Since then I have also completed their 500 hour, and 1100 hour trainings. I also follow yearly workshops and trainings with international teachers with a particular interest in breath work, anatomy, alignment, and somatic practices.

I have been in the fortunate position to have followed the pranayama teachings with Sri O.P Tiwari since 2006. I have maintained a daily practice and continue studies with him to this day.

In 2016, I became a certified yoga therapist and a continued hands-on deepening of my knowledge of using yoga as a therapy benefits many of my students. Using yoga as a healing practice is one of my main motivations as a teacher.

I have taught in Australia, Mexico, Japan and currently am co-founder of Ashtanga Yoga Lausanne in Switzerland. Come and visit me if you are in the neighborhood!

Here are a few guidelines to facilitate a seamless move from Studio to Zoom:

  1. Position your camera so you see your whole mat including your entire person standing at the top of the mat.
    – Set your device on a table or shelf 53-60cm (21-24”) high and 168cm (5.5’) away from your mat – at an angle (10 or 2 o’clock) from front of mat.
  2. Make sure your background is not overly illuminated from lights or windows, otherwise you will become a silhouette on screen.
  3. Download ZOOM app.
    – click on link or enter the meeting id and password
  4. When on Zoom:
    – as you log in, use the Video preview to help you position your device and mat
    – make sure your audio is on mute, this keeps out all external noises from disrupting the ‘quiet’ of the room
    – make sure video is on and your screen is not black
  5. Check your internet connection.
  6. Should you need to communicate with the teacher during class, please use the Chat option.
