Little did he know he was actually going to recognize his teacher in R. Sharath Jois and practice with him for ten consecutive months on his first trip to Mysore.
Since then, Arne has made annual pilgrimages to Mysore, continuing his advanced studies with his teachers, R. Sharath Jois and Saraswathi Jois.
In 2010, Arne was authorized by the Jois family to teach the Primary and full Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga—a rare privilege bestowed on a select few at that time.
In 2019, he completed the Advanced A series and started learning the Advanced B series under the direct guidance of his teacher R. Sharath Jois.
In 2023, a year before R. Sharath Jois passed away, he granted Arne the Certification to teach the Advanced A series as well, further solidifying Arne’s deep commitment to the Ashtanga tradition, becoming the first latin american man to receive this blessing, in more than fifty years of the Jois family teaching foreigners.
Arne’s teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of basic details in self-practice, to create more stability, while opening the path for a transformative tool for self-discovery and personal growth. His classes are designed to help students build a sustainable and meaningful connection to their practice, focusing on the integration of breath, movement, and mindfulness.
Throughout his career and appreciation for traveling and discovering new horizons, he has developed and supported Mysore programs in countries across the globe:
* Southeast Asia: The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
* Japan: Mysore Tokyo, Oita, Beppu, Kanazawa, Matsumoto, and Kyoto.
* China: Beijing, Schenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou.
* Europe: Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and Hungary.
* Middle East: Turkey (Istanbul and Antalya). Beirut, Lebanon, where he has been nurturing the Mysore program since 2017.
* Mexico: Guadalajara, Monterrey, Culiacán, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, and his hometown Mexico City, whenever he visits his family.
Arne’s teaching style is grounded, authentic, and deeply rooted in the traditional Ashtanga lineage. He invites his students to embark on a journey of self-exploration and inner transformation through a consistent, disciplined, and enjoyable practice.
For those seeking to begin, or deepen their practice and understanding of Ashtanga Yoga, Arne offers guidance to help you take the first steps toward self-awareness and as well as supportive meaningful mindsets.
