Arne Espejel is a Certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher with over two decades of dedicated practice and teaching experience. He discovered Ashtanga Yoga in 2003 and embarked on his first journey to India in 2007. After six months of traveling between India and Thailand he finally arrived to Mysore to pay his respects to the legendary Sri K. Pattabhi and R. Sharath Jois, and he began his uninterrupted yearly visits to Mysore, up until today.

In 2010, Arne was authorized by the Jois family to teach the Primary and Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga—a rare privilege bestowed on a select few.

In 2019, he completed the Advanced A series and Arne has since been learning the Advanced B series under the direct guidance of R. Sharath Jois.

In 2023, Arne received the Certification from R.Sharath Jois to teach the Advanced A series, further solidifying his deep commitment to the Ashtanga tradition.

Arne’s teaching focus emphasizes the importance of self-practice as a transformative tool for self-discovery and personal growth. His classes are designed to help students build a sustainable and meaningful connection to their practice, focusing on the integration of breath, movement, and mindfulness.

Throughout his career, Arne has developed, as well as covered Mysore programs in different countries across the globe:
• Southeast Asia: The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
• Japan: Mysore Tokyo, Oita, Beppu, Kanazawa, Matsumoto, and Kyoto.
• Europe: Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and Hungary.
• Middle East:
   – Istanbul and Antalya in Turkey.
   – Beirut in Lebanon.
• Mexico: Guadalajara and his hometown of Mexico City whenever he visits his family.

Arne’s teaching style is grounded, authentic, and deeply rooted in the traditional Ashtanga lineage. He invites his students to embark on a journey of self-exploration and inner transformation through a consistent and disciplined practice.

For those seeking to begin their journey on the mat or deepen their existing practice and understanding of Ashtanga Yoga, Arne offers guidance to help you take the first steps toward self-awareness.
