Chuck Miller Workshop 2014 (Oct 10-14, 2014)
As the year’s end looms large, there is always an assessing, a look back to how we’ve spent our time. Before the holiday madness churns its wheels, never stopping until the next year creeps up on us, it is the perfect time to take a moment and stand outside the routine that has propelled us throughout 2014.
For those who already know the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, and those who are about to embark on a wonderful journey, Chuck Miller would like to remove us from the daily grooves that dictate our regular practice. He would like us to take a second, a third, and a fourth look at how and why we practice.
“I don’t care how far you go, nor how fast you go! That you understand the direction and quality of effort is more important!”
Chuck Miller found his first yoga teacher in Sri K Pattabhi Jois, and then begun a decades-long journey through the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Despite his breadth of experience, learning from so many, teaching so many, he remains a student at heart.
“I feel the desire to always be a student, sometimes to have the responsibility to share my experiences and ‘teach’. I hope it helps people.”
Coupled with the discipline required by the practice is Chuck’s belief that all lies within us. We choose a ritual, a way in, something we believe in, as a means to find truth in our lives. Yet very simply, the answer, the way in lies within each and every one of us.
And this is the path upon which Chuck would like to take us all on. A searching, a finding, and a practicing through a mindful movement of yoga poses that we are all so fortunate to learn about.
The workshop will consist of a morning practice, a short break, and an afternoon clinic. The afternoon clinic will be determined by the practitioners and their particular needs.
