Join world renowned certified Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher John Scott for a 5-day workshop and led class. John incorporates design principles with yoga philosophies adding a very precise, detailed and colorful metaphorical presentation to his teaching. His highly individual, analytical and sensitive approach touches deeply the students who work with him.

John continues to share and pass on the "Method" of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as taught to him by his Guru, Shri K Pattabhu Jois. This is a wonderful opporunity to learn from and experience a humble and inspiring teacher who teaches from the heart.

SCHEDULE:

With a combination of technique and guided count, John will look at the blue-print of "correct asana" establishing the Sthira and the Sukha required to go beyond fixed form, moving through blocked/stuck energy with Breath management, Bandha and Dristi.


The workshops will cover various aspects of the practice such as:


The spine: a technique class that will look at what supports the spine, the patterns of movement through the spine and how this movement relates to the breath, helping the body to "wake up" in some of its most unconscious places.

Vinyasa and the continuous flow of the breath: a look at energy in a constant state of movement and a way of tapping into the dynamic and creative play of movement.

Pratyahara: turning the mind in on the experience. A playful exploration into the heightening of the 5 senses.

How Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga really works: the class will look at the 8 limbs of the yoga "time wheel" and will turn back in time to understand the essence of Patanjali.
