Heather Serna

Heather placed her feet on a mat at a time of searching and uncertainty in her life. The Ashtanga yoga practice and discipline shored in her wandering mind — strengthening her body, calming her spirit, and grounding her life. Shortly after graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, she made her first trip to Mysore, India to practice at the Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) in 2008. And in 2012, after yearly visits to Mysore with opportunities to assist R. Sharath Jois, Director of KPJAYI, she was blessed with an Authorization Level 2 from KPJAYI.

As Heather deepened her personal practice, she shared all she learned and helped develop three Ashtanga yoga programs at Tampa, Florida. She also spent time at the Miami Life Center, honing her practice and teaching abilities with Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldman, and Greg Nardi. Currently, Heather travels and teaches around the world, grateful and honored to share a sacred and ancient practice with others.

It is not often that visiting teachers come all the way down South, away from the bustling metropolis. Make time to deepen your yoga practice without having to battle the snarl of vehicles. Come and give yourself the gift of time, space, and breath surrounded by green and the sounds of nature.

Beginners are welcome. The start-time for those new to the practice is 8:30am and for those that know the practice, you may come at anytime, keeping in mind that sessions end at 9:30am.

Classes will not require advance reservations but may involve a wait time when the room is at full capacity.
